On Friday the 1st February Barton Clough Primary had their first ever Super Learning Day. The theme of the day was about the importance of our Health and Wellbeing, learning being focussed on how to have a healthy mind, body and soul. There were 6 workshops which KS1 and KS2 all visited throughout the day including peer massage, mindfulness, activities to boost our self-esteem, dance, simple circuits and healthy fruit kebabs. EYFS and Acorn class also took part in their own Super Learning Day on the same theme in their classrooms.
A child in year 4 explained, “I enjoyed experiencing a variety of new things today to help me to relax.”
One staff member said, “Lots of laughter and positivity are the stand out things for me today, roll on the next Super Learning Day.”
Another said, “Great fun, fantastic learning, excited children, happy staff – it’s been great.”
There was a relaxed and positive atmosphere about the school all day with the staff and children enjoying spending the day together in a different way. We are all thinking about what we could do for our next Super Learning Day focus and looking forward to it already.
